I was in Butte 6 full days & visited the M&M 3 times! Try the Bloody Ceasar with all the fixings, the french fries with gravy on the side, and the sweet cream pancakes (only 1 unless you're really hungry!) with the Riley's sausage patty (the best!).
Food is so so good. Calm and peaceful and very respectful employees. Even after that fire. Food is good. Recommended. Service is almost immediate which is nice. Employees were socializing with the consumers which was nice.
I do not make this statement lightly. That was by far the best pancake I've had in my life. It was perfect. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with a hint of birthday cake (best way I can think to describe it). I would be willing to make the case that it is the best pancake in all of America.
We came here for breakfast. It was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a very long time. All of our food was so so delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. I would highly recommend this joint to anyone!!
Great food and great service. Ate there three mornings. Chicken fried steak, corn beef hash, garbage omelette, biscuits and gravy. All amazing. Blood Marys are amazing too.
Amazing breakfast. I loved the hash browns. Like amazing hash browns. My garbage omlet was good, but I filled up on the hash browns! I could eat a whole plate! The pancakes are also great and HUGE. It was truly a five-star breakfast. Bacon was crispy as well!
Read a review about their pancakes, "best in the universe", ordered 1 at the suggestion of the server, the review was correct and so was the server! Great pancake, perfect bacon, good selection of NA drinks. The Asian chicken salad was delicious. No wonder it's usually busy there.
While shopping in downtown Butte, we asked some of the merchants about a good place for breakfast. Universally the answer was "the M&M." They were not wrong. You can read about the M&M's long history in Butte, I won't repeat that here. Suffice it to say, the M&M is a fixture in downtown Butte. We stopped on a Sunday morning and sat at the counter right inside the front door. From there we could see two of the grill cooks hard at work. I struck up a conversation with the cook directly in front of me who was making pancakes and French toast. In the back was another cook cranking out hash browns, bacon, and other delights. There was a third grill cook that I couldn't see well and he appeared to be making eggs and omelets? I ordered a short stack of pancakes with bacon. My wife had the corned beef hash. Both were exceptional and I could not finish both pancakes - they were the size of a dinner plate. The bacon was just the way I like it, nice and crisp. My wife said the corned beef hash was perfect and it looked like they make their own corned beef. We had coffee which was a local brew, and it was excellent. Our server was great and the entire time we were there, someone walked around with a coffee pot to refill our cups. Breakfast for two people was $33.00 which we thought was quite reasonable considering the quality and the amount of food. We hope to get back one more time for breakfast before we leave the Butte area. By all means give the M&M a try if you are in the neighborhood.
When I first moved here, I was lucky enough to eat at the original M&M many times before the fire. It was beautiful, I always admired it’s original mahogany bar and all the memorabilia of it’s historical significance in this town. Many of the presidents ate there while they toured through the US and several A list celebrities as well. It was a beautiful space and it will forever be missed. Lucky for us, Selina, the owner opened again just next door. She even recently hung the old neon sign back up that was saved by the brave men and women of the Butte Silver Bow Fire Department during the fire. The first thing I ever had there was the Miner’s Omelette which, as you can imagine, is very hearty with sirloin, onions, peppers and cheese. I also really enjoyed their country fried steak and they have excellent, classic diner style hash browns as well. Really grateful that the fire, although extremely damaging, took no lives and harmed no persons. Recently I looked into the pit of what remains of the old M&M and in the rubble, purple flowers were blooming. It was a nice little reminder or resilience and how life always finds a way.
First time here and wow we were really impressed! The staff and even the other diners were so friendly. Even though the place was packed, we were served quickly. Our waitress was super welcoming, and we felt like locals even though we’re not from the area. Breakfast was really good, honestly, everything was great. This hidden gem is definitely worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. Prices are very reasonable, the place is clean, there’s plenty of parking, and the vibes are just amazing as soon as you walk in. Big thanks for the awesome service!
